You asked for it...

Okay maybe you didn't ask for it, but I have had several people ask me for tips on how to take better pictures. First off I don't think of myself as a great photographer. Not that I haven't taken some great pictures, but I think that is more a function of great pictures just waiting to happen all over the place, rather than anything to do my cunning skills with a camera. The fact is if I can take great pictures anyone can.

Before we start get yourself a good camera. I used a Canon S500 point and shoot for all the pictures shown on this site. I also own a Canon Rebel XTi SLR. I recommend Canon to all my friends. Why? - because you get great pictures, the cameras are durable and they have reasonable pricing. I've tried Kodak, Fuji & Pentax, but I have always gone back to Canon. If you live nearby I'll loan you my Canon so you can try it for yourself and see what you think.

Okay let's look at some pictures...

Fibonacci Power Lines

Divide your frame into thirds vertically and horizontally.

Place objects in the frame along these lines and you'll make your photos more interesting.

If you can get things on more than one line - maybe vertically & horizontally that's even better.

I can't fully explain this works, but Fibonacci figured out that a certain ratio has special significance in nature and therefore to the human mind.
